I'm already worried about bridesmaid dresses, and I'm (still) not yet engaged. The five women that I have in mind all have VERY different body types and the last thing I would want is one of them not feeling beautiful in their dresses. On the other hand, I really do want them all in the same dress. I'm thinking of polling them when the time comes...anyways I definitely have some time to decide. Here is one dress that I am loving at the moment...

From Nordstroms.

My Polaris photo shoot!

Ok. So here is the offical photo posted on photographer Todd Williams website.

Basically the only reason I was able to do this was because Mark and I have a friend who works for Polaris as a marketing manager or something and they needed someone "tall, with dark hair, etc" for their 2009 Victory motorcycle brochure. So he asked and I of course said yes! I have to say, it was pretty much a blast :) I look so pissed off in this picture...honestly it was probably the easiest modeling ever. All I had to do was stare at the places they told me to look. My first and only modeling experience was offically a succuss. Soooo if anyone ever needs a model*, let me know ;)

*Obviously not one that needs to have any sort of talent!

Perfect Wedding Hair?

From People magazine.

I love this hair...and this hair. Not to mention the dress.

From Jim Hjelm Bridal.

or this dress...

Also from Jim Hjelm Bridal.

The coolest favors I've seen yet!

From here.

I really like that these mugs have a perfect Minnesota design...and you can put teeny tiny initials on the heart inside the tree. How sneaky and clever! I don't think favors at weddings should say things on them like "Rick and Mandy's Wedding, April 2003". The favors are for the people to keep and use and I doubt they want somebody else's name in large font across the front of the object, especially if it's something that people would use on a fairly regular basis. But I think it would be cute to remind people where they got the item in a very subtle way too. So this seems like a perfect in-between option.

Seen origianaly on The Preppy Wedding blog.

I'm an orthorexic!!!! Help!

So I guess there is this new "really dangerous" disorder called orthorexia...meaning one who is obsessed with eating healthy food. No joke. Watch the video!

This is the most pathetic news story I have ever seen. Ugh. America.

From Ecofabulous

I'm a sucker for most things 'cute'...but this just tops them all.

This picture is too adorible for words. Nuff said.

In other I got my first look at what a pastor wife's life would be like. Mark had an opportunity through his seminary to do a guest sermon for a small town in Minnesota. We met at 6am and drove for about an hour through beautiful Minnesota country side. When we got there we were just flored by the welcoming and personal gretting from all. Anyways, Mark did great! He is very good at explaining so that people can really relate it to their own lives. I felt very proud to be his partner. We stood at the exit as people started to leave and got to at least shake hands, but mostly converse, with the entire congregation. As we were leaving, the woman who was Mark's contact person and helped set everything up gave me a hug and whispered 'get that guy to marry you'. I was like, lady, I'm with ya!

Those that truely love...

So this is my blog. I want to start by saying that if I am the only one who ever reads this, that is just fine by me. Which at this point is true. But if you do at some point read this, then thanks for reading this far. Ha. Anyways. I am planning my wedding. Although I'm not quite engaged I do see it in the near future. So without further ado (I have no idea how to write that) this quote is my whole starting point for marriage and hopefully will encompas our relaionship as we grow together. Also, if my man and I all of a sudden turn into beautiful vintage cowboy models, I'm fine with that too.

"Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two."

Beauty in a picture and in words. Love them both.
