updaaaaaaaaaaate

I'm so excited for my save the dates! I love that I'm making them myself too. Thanks blogging world, for bringing out my creative side...I love it :) I'm not quite done with them, but a picture will be posted as soon as they are camera ready.

It's 2am, I can't sleep. This so rarely happens to me. Weird.

Spent the weekend in Chicago with some friends. Fun was had :) Lululemon was ransacked! I won't tell you how much I spent, but all together we spent close to $1500 there. I'm not even going to apologize. These babies lift, separate, suck, tuck, are comfortable and cute too! Plus everything was 50% off.

The girls are getting their bridesmaid dresses in and so far I think everyone is liking them! Always, an important detail!

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
by E. E. Cumming
somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully,mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully ,suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility:whose texture
compels me with the color of its countries,

rendering death and forever with each breathing

Speaking of ribbon...

Found! Via the Pleated Poppy. 2.5 inches of this flannel grey seems like a nice size to me....

One more thing checked off the list...

Yeeehaa! The dresses have been decided. I will probably be adding a grey sash that can tie in the back in a pretty bow and ta-dah :) Supposedly my aunt had bad luck with my sister in law's wedding dress not having a lining which showed pretty much everything. I doubt that will be a problem. So! Yay :) Plus they are on sale for sooooo cheap. $72 from $250. I kid you not. JCrew.

In other news, we met with a different caterer yesterday and looooove them. Chowgirls is all about local, organic, healthy (but yuumy!) food. Perfect and very similar in price to the place we were going with.

projects at this point....

oh how i wish i could buy an extra dress for dancing at the reception, so gorgeous!! Melissa Sweet

Well now that I have for sure locked in to DIYing our STDs, I'm thinking about what other ideas I've had to keep things cheeper and creative. This is what I have so far...

me:
-save the dates, finish: end of Jan?
-wood sign to point towards reception (2), finish: june?
-custom sparklers, finish: june?
-lace runners for rectangular tables, finish: may
-hanging votives for the trees, finish: june
-cones to hold flower pedals for throwing, finish: may
-advice jar, finish: june
-out of town bags, finish: july
-totally faking my calligraphy, finish: may

other people DIY:
-carved wooden cake toppers (jim)

to do/decide:
-birds nests and hurricanes as centerpiece decor?
-use peaches as escort pieces?
-other possible signs (games, photo booth, dessert table, etc)
-do we still want barrels as tables? i'm thinking no currently
-ice cream?
-shoes
-bridesmaid dresses
-sign catering contract, finalize menu, and pay $ down
-sign music contract and pay $ down
-finalize guest list!!!!!
-make sure there is enough hotel rooms reserved
-figure out guest transportation or valet??
-figure out rental situation
-figure out timing of day

this is just some.....of many

I have perceived that to be with those I like is enough,To stop in the company with the rest at evening is enough, To be surrounded by beautiful, curious, breathing, laughing flesh is enough, To pass among them, or touch any one, Or rest my arm ever so lightly round his or her neck for a moment what is this, then? I do no ask any more delight. I swim in it, as in a sea.

Making from scratch...my very own 'save the dates'!

Everyone is always talking about Paper Source and I didn't know a thing about them or what the big deal was. I actually thought they were just a internet company...boy oh boy. I was so wrong.

I walked into their store yesterday in uptown and fell in love. Ideas just started jumping out at me. It is such a source of creativity in there. Our save the dates quickly appeared in my mind! I'm so excited to do a mock-up to post...but I'm still missing a couple key ingredients. Mostly printing and lace paper. My idea is loosly based off of Youn's with the lace detail, but a lot different too. Anyways, crafts are fun and I am a huge nerd. Will post a mock-up ASAP. In the meantime, here are the colors!

mmmmmmmm....

Love this hair...is it too much though? I honestly don't know if I care.

Bridesmaid dress and clearer picture of my dress :)

We went bridesmaid dress shopping yesterday with 3 of the 5 bm's and I all of a sudden got terrified that I didn't like my dress anymore. I hear this is a common phenomenon among brides. Luckily we were at Prisicilla of Boston (where my more expensive twin lives) so she pulled it out for me to see what they looked like next to each other. Don't worry. I still loooooooooove it! But the bridesmaid dresses, not so much. I mean they were pretty, just not amazing (which I obviously want). I was just going to settle but they all agreed that even though they were pretty dresses, they were not 'me'. So that feels good I guess. To know that my bm's are willing to wear what is 'me', even if they looked beautiful in something else. So I did a ton of searching last night online for just dresses. Not bridesmaid dresses. Just dresses that have personality, charm, character, etc....and of course after tonnnnnnnnnnns of searching I found one. Here she is.

I'd have the bow removed...and maybe add a small flower similar to mine on the hip. By Nanette Lapore.

My dress closer up and front & center. Swoooooon. I wanna wear it everyday!
